The Lo-Down: May 2021

It’s the beginning of a new month so… you know what that means. Time for my May monthly recap!

What I’m watching

the wilds - what im watching

My OBSESSION of the month has been The Wilds on Amazon Prime. When I tell you that I binged the whole show in one day, I’m not joking. To put that into perspective for you… the show is ten episodes, at an hour each. Luckily, I was super sick for a few days and was already going to be in bed so this was the perfect distraction. The best way I can describe this show is if Lord of the Flies was a social experiment, oh and it’s all girls! I am already desperately in need of season two, which happens to be filming right now - I don’t know how they expect me to wait! I would 100% recommend this show if you haven’t seen it yet.

In the know

Things are finally starting to pick up and I am actually getting busy. The last week of May was the most hectic for me and obviously, I vlogged all of it! The highlight of the week was going to Disneyland with my mom since it had been quite a while since our last visit (October 2019, to be exact). The park reopened to California residents back in April but the ticket process was a bit stressful. By luck, we managed to find tickets for a day that worked great for us both. It was so much fun and I had no idea how much I missed going since it had been closed for over a year.

For Memorial Day Weekend, I was going on a road trip to Arizona with a few friends. It was a super last-minute trip that we planned in about a week and a half. Fisher and Chris Lake, two DJs, were putting on a huge show and I needed to go. This was my first concert back after Covid and it was so exciting and since I am fully vaccinated, I am not as afraid to go out in public. The show was massive because they sold 2,000 more tickets after the show had already sold out but it was an outdoor stage so I didn’t even notice the extra people. The weekend was great, aside from the insane amount of traffic, and got me really excited for summer and having things reopen.

splurge of the month

I can admit that I am addicted to shopping but, I also know how to budget. I don’t like to spend too much money on clothes because I tend to outgrow them, figuratively and literally. I do however enjoy a good splurge on a designer handbag or a pair of boots that I simply need in my wardrobe. The RealReal is one of my favorite sites to just browse through every now and then, by that I mean practically daily, until I came across my dream boots. I am not exaggerating when I say I have been coveting these grey Chanel boots for almost two years. They have been saved in a folder on my desktop forever and when I saw them in my size… I had to buy them. I know I am not in the best place to purchase Chanel boots (still looking for a new job) but, I have never seen them for sale in my size. I knew if I didn’t purchase them now, I might not find them again for a while. Of course, they were perfect and everything I imagined they would be so I recorded an unboxing video for my YouTube account.

P.S. I am trying to get better at filming videos and uploading on time!
