Outfits of the Week: March 22nd-26th, 2021
Hey guys! We are back with another week of outfit details. This is the second post of my “Outfits of the Week” series that I started doing back in January. If you haven’t read my first one, click here to read it now! I am giving you all of the details on my outfits below, as well as linking similar products for you to shop!
Monday
The inspiration for today’s look was Vivienne Westwood - her brand is very edgy and punk rock vibes which is not my usual style but, I had fun switching it up. My plaid pleated skirt from Mango really makes the whole outfit; the red and black colorway is what gives it a grungy/punk feel. I threw on a simple black bodysuit from Zara and a pair of patent booties that I got on sale from Forever21. The accessories are what really bring the outfit together. Since this is a Vivienne Westwood look, I had to wear my orb choker and added my favorite Alexander Wang bag.
Tuesday
Today was a bit of a lazy day; I only left the house for a sushi dinner date with friends. Since we are still outdoor eating in California, I wanted to be warm yet still dress up, so layering is KEY. A big part of my everyday style involves mixing high and low - designer pieces with more affordable options. My split seam leggings and dual-tone booties are from Nasty Gal; both insanely affordable and are surprisingly good quality! I threw on a long sleeve from Helmut Lang and added a denim jacket over top from Proenza Schouler for extra warmth.
wednesday
This might just be my favorite outfit of the week! Unfortunately, it is mostly thrifted, but I tried my best to find similar items for you guys to shop. The star of this outfit is my vintage Polo Ralph Lauren sweater vest (a men’s XL) that I purchased from eBay. The vest is a tad short to wear as a dress, so I layered an oversized white button-down shirt underneath. I wore the same Forever21 booties from Monday and wore a silk hair ribbon from Etsy as a neck-tie.
Thursday
I was so excited to wear my new dress - that I THINK is going to be the ‘it’ dress of the season! These poplin/mini prairie-style dresses have been popping up in virtually every store and I had to get my hands on one. This dress from Bardot is adorable and not too expensive - retailing for $129. Since the dress is such a bold statement, I avoided any accessories and wore a simple pair of brown booties from Jimmy Choo.
Friday
We are keeping it extremely casual for this Friday. I did have a nail appointment today - hence the Birkenstocks. This black lace top is from Zara and is one of those shirts that you never wear but, when you do you think, “Hmmm, why do I never wear this shirt?” I wore my baggy distressed jeans from Re/Done to be comfy and make the look super casual.
