Prague | Day 1 & 2

From Italy, we flew to the Czech Republic to visit Prague for a couple of days. Our first day there was a bit short because we didn’t even get to our Airbnb apartment until around 7 pm. We spent the night walking around and stopped to get some dinner at this restaurant, Marina, that was on the river. It was pretty cold outside but they were so nice and had blankets we could use while we ate.

The next day we woke up early and went to breakfast at a restaurant that was super close to our apartment called Cafe Bar Riviera. The apartment building we were staying in was in Nove Mesto which was the best location because it was very centrally located so it was super close to everything.

Our first day in Prague was super sunny and was supposed to be the warmest day we were there so we obviously had to go for a boat ride on the river. The boat ride itself was pretty boring but, the view was amazing and we ordered a couple of drinks to make it a little more fun. We walked to Old Town Square after which was so adorable. There was so much going on, there were bubble blowers and people dressed up as gorillas and polar bears. It is obviously a super touristy spot but was still a great place to see. My friend, Sydney, found this place on Instagram that makes these really cool donut and ice cream things so we went to go try it out. They have similar ones sold at food stands literally everywhere but the specialty one we went to was called Good Food Coffee & Bakery. It was seriously so good; I got the carbon one that was black with little red devil horns and it was amazing.

After hours of walking around and sightseeing for a bit, we sat down at a little outdoor cafe, Malostranský Hostinec, and got beer tasting flights. This was a horrible mistake because I hate beer so it was actually painful to drink. Also since it was getting later in the day and cooling off the place was legit blasting us with the outdoor heaters so after 45 minutes my beer was literally hot and even grosser than it was at the start. For fun, we had made reservations at an ice bar and decided to grab dinner at a spot nearby. The place we decided on ended up being a really nice restaurant called Smetana Restaurant. I had soup and potato pancakes that were surprisingly so yummy; probably the best dinner we had in Prague. After that we went to the ice bar, I had already been to one before in Amsterdam and this one was pretty much the same thing. After such a long day I was so tired and so ready to go to bed.
