December is always a super chaotic month with the holidays and my birthday all being at the same time. As expected, this month was pretty hectic and I stayed busy the entire time. At the beginning of the month, I did a little day trip to the Getty Villa with my boyfriend and kept busy with my new job at Dolls Kill. I spent Christmas Eve with his family as well and then hosted Christmas Day with my whole family at our house which was so much fun! I had a very chill, self-care day for my 24th birthday this year and went to a morning workout class followed by a calming facial at the spa. As you will read about below, I brought in the new year at Countdown NYE with friends. I am sad the holidays are over but am so ready for 2022!
Christmas Favorites
I am always super grateful for my family and any gifts I receive on Christmas - click here to see my mini “What I Got For Christmas Haul.” I wanted to share with you a few of my absolute favorite gifts and where you can pick them up as well! In case you didn’t know, I am the biggest Charlotte Tilbury fan and love all her products. My mom ended up surprising me with her Smokey Eyes are Forever Instant Eye Palette - I didn’t put it on my list so I was not expecting it at all and the colors are so gorgeous, especially the greens! My boyfriend got me the cutest bracelet (scroll up for photo) that I have not taken off since opening, it’s from Tiffany & Co. and is so simple and classy and great for everyday wear. The main thing I wanted this year was a new pair of Uggs since they are cool again and I picked out the most adorable pair with a zipper detail. I loved everything I got and was sure to be generous with the gifts I was giving as well but wanted to share my top 3 favorite gifts from Chritmas 2021. Click below to shop them too!
My Birthday & NYE
As I mentioned earlier, I had a very chill birthday this year. I usually like to do something fun for my birthday - this year I was supposed to go to the Getty Center but it was pouring rain all day and they only had a limited amount of tickets because of the omicron variant. Instead, I went to a morning Pure Barre class, which I have been taking for a few months now, and feel like I really notice a difference in my body. My mom ended up booking me a facial which was much needed since my last one was months ago! I kept it simple with dinner and just had a salad from Sweetgreen and then went to my boyfriend’s apartment to watch You and drink wine. Even though it was a more simple birthday than I had planned, I wouldn’t change it!
For New Year’s Eve this year, I went to Countdown NYE with a big group of friends. Countdown is a two-day music festival/rave that is on the 31st and January 1st - it is pretty cool because the whole thing is an alien theme so they had a lot of space-like little attractions. The lineup wasn’t too bad and we thought it would be a fun way to spend NYE, I did have fun but I don’t think I will be going again in the future. It was unbelievably cold and figuring out an Airbnb and party bus situation was a bit of a struggle. Even though I ended up with covid (that is a whole other story) I still had fun and got to see some of my favorite DJs. My favorite sets of the weekend were Rezz, G Jones, Blunts and Blondes, Matroda, Wax Motif, RL Grime, and Showtek!
my New Years resolutions
I usually have a set list of resolutions when going into a new year but that is so unrealistic and I never end up sticking to them. This year I wanted to set actual goals for myself instead of saying things like “I want to get in shape.” I like to set goals in all areas of my life: personal, health, and career. A few personal goals of mine are to travel to a place I haven’t been before and to stay consistent with my blog and YouTube since I did not keep a good schedule with either last year. My health goals are to stay active and try and to do more outdoor activities, I want to spend more time at the beach this year and do a bunch of hiking. When it comes to career goals, I got really lucky in 2021 with finding a job at a company I really like in a part of the fashion industry I have always wanted to be in (merchandising) so I am super grateful for that, I would say my only goal would be to get a raise and start making more money.
