December '22 Recap

Kx5 at the Coliseum

This concert truly needed its own shout-out because this was truly the best EDM set I have ever seen in my life. Aside from the fact that Kx5 is two legends coming together (Kaskade and Deadmau5) with John Summit opening, I didn’t find out until after that it was apparently the biggest single EDM concert ever held in North America which is insane. The seats were available for purchase but floor is the only way to go at a concert like that, I paid about $250 for my ticket which was a resale one because I think it had sold out but not positive about that one! The production, the stage, the fireworks, and just the whole vibe of the place was amazing and so much fun despite a 20 minute power outage. Yes, that literally happened, we were scared that the concert was over but it was just a blown fuse.

My favorite part of the night had to be when they played Atmosphere by Kaskade, it was such a full circle moment because I think that was the song that got me interested in EDM music back when I was a freshman in high school. I sadly don’t have any videos of it though because my phone was in my bag and I was enjoying the moment too much to take it out. She obviously came to slay with the fit, (duhhh) I wore a two-piece dress from Namilia and my red New Rock’s that I am OBSESSED with. Getting all dressed up and going to a big EDM event like that is getting me really excited for EDC in the spring.

My Birthday

I had a pretty chill, low-key birthday this year - I don’t know what it is but as I get older my birthdays are less exciting. Maybe it’s cause I am sad about getting older, even though I know 25 is still young! I woke up and had work but luckily since my birthday was on a Friday this year I was working from home. A little later I got a call that I had a flower delivery from a boy, which was really sweet, then I packed up a bag and drove home to my parent’s house. My mom was super sweet and wrapped up a bunch of presents and laid them out in my old room. It’s funny how as you get older it’s harder to think of what to ask for on Christmas and your birthday; nowadays if I want something, I buy it myself. Although my mom did gift me a pillow with a picture of my cat printed on it which is now my favorite thing in my room and I sleep with it every night.

After I was done working, I got ready to go to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Taverna Tony in Malibu. I haven’t been in sooo long but it was just as good as I remember. I don’t know if it’s because the restaurant is on so close to the water but the food is just so fresh. After dinner, we went back to our house and had some cupcakes, which were such a struggle to eat because I was so full from dinner! A few of my friends from high school just got a house in my area so I went by for a little while to see the place and hang out. It was honestly a better birthday than I thought I was going to have. It’s hard having a birthday so close to the holidays because everyone is always out of town or has other plans

New Year’s Eve

This New Year’s was similar to my birthday, in that I had a lot more fun than I thought I was going to. Me and a few other girls wanted to get all dressed up and have a girls night in with drinks and taking pictures. Which we did, but we ended up going out after (of course lol). It was also cute to celebrate my birthday with some of my friends, I think that will be a new tradition for me to just wait and celebrate on NYE with friends. I wore the most SLAY outfit ever from Lioness, click to shop, and did my first ever updo, which may become my new thing.

Although it was POURING rain, we still wanted to have ourselves a time; we were on our way to the Fleur Room and completely turned our Uber around because we wanted to go to a party for New Year’s instead. We showed up to this party in the hills literally like 15 minutes before it was midnight and only stayed for about an hour but was so much fun. Then we ended the night and went back to my friend’s house and ordered pizza and watched Aquamarine. Honestly a 9/10 New Year’s Eve, so I was happy!
