Life Update: I Adopted A Kitten During Quarantine
So… I have VERY exciting news. I got a kitten over the weekend! This was such a last-minute decision but I am so happy and excited to welcome this little baby into our house. His name is Stanley and we think he is around 3-4 months old.
For a bit of backstory, I already have two cats that are both about 3 years old and one is very shy and hides most of the day and the other loves to play and always wants attention. I came home from work on Friday and my mother made a comment about how one of our cats, Angel, needed a friend to play with. Jokingly I was like, “Yeah I know,” she then adds that she had seen some cute kittens online at the local shelters. Immediately I was like WHAT?! because I didn’t think she was serious about this. We started looking up pictures and decided we were going to go the next day to look at some, unfortunately, the shelters were appointment only and they were booked up for about a week and we did not want to wait. We then started to look at ads on craigslist and found a couple that were great options. Only one was available to be seen that day, the others would have been a day or two wait but I wanted to go right away, mostly so my mom didn’t have time to change her mind on this. Within a few hours, we were in the car driving to West Hollywood to see him and ended up taking him home with us.
We have never had a boy cat, or a cat this young before but it has been great, especially because we are able to be home with him every day because of COVID. He is the sweetest boy ever and LOVES to play, he is still slowly being introduced to our other cats but I think they will be fine very soon. I will definitely be sharing updates as time goes by and as he starts to grow up (which I’m not happy about because I want him to be little forever).
