Underrated Fashion Documentaries You Need To Watch!

I was seeing so many Pins and Tik Toks about “must-see fashion documentaries” and they all had the same few. Always the very popular and obvious choices, so I wanted to share some of the underrated fashion documentaries that I have never really seen anyone talking about. I originally made a story pin on Pinterest showcasing the films and decided they deserved their own blog post!

Crazy About Tiffany’s

This documentary is dedicated to the iconic Tiffany & Co. and goes into the founding of the company and how it grew into the household name it is today. I loved how they incorporated celebrity interviews as well as clips of employees and just loyal customers. If you are interested in luxury jewelry or just love Tiffany’s, it is a must-watch!

The Gospel According to André

André Leon Talley is truly one of the biggest names in modern-day fashion. Fashion journalist for WWD, Vogue Editor, and author are just a few of the titles he has held in his illustrious career in the world of fashion. His documentary goes into his past and upbringing, I also recommend his memoir if you are interested in learning more about him.

Maddman: The Steve Madden Story

This is the documentary that surprised me the most because of how crazy Steve Madden’s life has been. Aside from the scandal discussed in The Wolf of Wall Street, he’s had such a fascinating journey. This documentary goes into his life and how he was able to build one of the biggest shoe empires in the world.

Mademoiselle C

Carine Roitfeld is pretty much the french version of Anna Wintour. She is the former EIC of Vogue Paris and this documentary gives you the behind-the-scenes journey of launching her own publication. The bi-annual publication, CR Fashion Book, is just as chic as Vogue and is quite an impressive feat.
