I am pretty much obsessed with all things skincare so when I saw Supergoop! had released a new Vitamin C serum with SPF… well I NEEDED it! This product literally just hit the market and I think I have seen a total of 2 reviews on it so far, so I needed to try it out and give my first impressions on the product!

My Skin & Routine
Just for a bit of background on my skin, before we go into detail on the product, I have very dry skin and it is a bit acne-prone, nothing crazy just the occasional breakout here and there. For my skincare routine, while testing this product, I wanted to keep it super simple with just a cleanser, moisturizer, and the Supergoop! serum to get a feel of how it would react to my skin. I paired it with my everyday products that my skin is used to just so I could really see the effects the serum has on my skin.

Texture & Consistency
After shaking up the bottle and pumping it onto my fingers I noticed it was a bit watery, not too thin but not a thick gel serum consistency. Despite the watery texture, the product did not spread very easily so I patted it into my skin instead of rubbing it in.
Scent
When smelling the serum I noticed that there is virtually no scent to it, which I love. Although, if you get really up close and personal, there is a very slight sunscreen smell but nothing overpowering.
Application
I used one full pump of the product and applied it by patting the serum into my skin. I noticed that once it was applied to my skin, it started to absorb very quickly so I wouldn’t recommend rubbing it in because you will be tugging on your skin. One pump was enough to cover my whole face; the product absorbed pretty fast but left a tacky feel to my face which my moisturizer applied just fine over top. I noticed that the serum did not feel super hydrating but it was not drying either which I feel is normal with sunscreen, on my skin at least. The serum left a very dewy look to my skin which was nice and gave me a pretty glow for the day.
After Thoughts
After wearing the SPF serum all day I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary with my skin, I had a bit of oiliness around the nose that I fear would lead to clogged pores if I wore this multiple days in a row. I did go for a walk outside later in the day and had no redness, so the serum definitely protected my face from sunburn.
As I mentioned above, the product retails for $46 for a 1 ounce bottle which is pretty common for a serum but a bit on the expensive side for an SPF. Since it did not feel super hydrating and it gave a bit of a tacky feel to the touch, I would not use this every day. I do think this would be perfect for the summer or a beach day and I do like this product but, I still prefer to use a lotion consistency for SPF so I do not think I will repurchase this again but I am glad I tried it out.
