Resetting for August

July was not the best month for me, especially near the end. I have just been very unmotivated and not feeling very happy lately. There is nothing in particular, I am just feeling down and don’t feel a drive to really do anything anymore. I really did not want to bring any of that negativity into August so I cleansed myself of all my bad vibes. I went outside one morning and saged myself to really make sure I was in a good place. Normally I can just get out of a funk with time, but this was something different; I was feeling worse and worse as the days went by. I really needed to look at what was going on in my head and just in life and fix anything I was unhappy about. Now I am feeling better and have a clear head so I am excited to see what August has in store for me.

july recap seven husbands of evelyn hugo

I caved to “Book Tok” and bought The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid… and b*tch! I am hooked already, this book is seriously so good. I have been reading chapters almost every day and really love it - which is saying a lot because getting into reading has always been a struggle for me. The story is about an old Hollywood film star who hires a “no-name” journalist to write her memoir and reveal the secrets of her life; her path to fame and the story behind all her marriages is very interesting while also having the underlying question of, Why this particular woman to write it? If you haven’t read this yet, definitely pick it up or add it to your reading list ASAP.

Hard Summer

I went to my first music festival since Covid started on July 31st and it was so exciting to be listening to live music again. Even though Covid is far from being over, doing things like this makes life feel normal again. I did keep myself as safe as possible, I am vaccinated and would avoid being too deep in the crowd. I also got tested for the virus twice after the festival and was negative both times.
