I think we can all agree that nobody likes chapped lips - they are painful and unpleasant to have (and to look at, if we’re being honest). Finding good lip products takes a lot of trial and error because there are SO many on the market. Lucky for you, I pretty much test them out like it’s my job so you don’t have to. We don’t gatekeep here so I am spilling the tea on my favorite lip product - from lip masks to lip liners!
This post is all about the lip products you need in your life.
hydrating
Although cute and fun packaging is aesthetically appealing, it is usually the simplest products that tend to give you the best hydration. The Aquaphor lip products have seriously been game changers for me, whether I was in dry desert air or a snowstorm, this product saved my lips. This unbelievably affordable lip treatment can be purchased at any drugstore and comes in an easy-to-apply squeeze tube. Trust me you need it!
lip mask
When I think of the perfect lip mask, it has to be thick, luxurious, and (most importantly) hydrating! The Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks are a Sephora staple and pretty much every girl I know has one… for a reason. Yes, they are that good! These give your lips such a good glossy look and aren’t too sticky so you can wear them day or overnight. This leave-on lip treatment contains hyaluronic acid and is always coming out in so many new yummy flavors (my favorite is vanilla)!
Scent
Now this category may be the most biased since scent is a very personal thing. I am someone who leans more towards warmer scents and loves anything vanilla or that smells like a baked good, so I was truly a sucker for this product from day one! The Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter seriously smells like seven-layer bars (umm yum) and is so moisturizing. I know $18 for a lip balm may seem pricey but it is quite oversized so it will last forever.
lip tint
It is no secret that Glossier has quite the cult following (and well deserved too). Their products are known for giving you that “woke up like this” and “no makeup, makeup” look. The Glossier Balm Dotcom in Cherry gives your lips the most subtle red tint and is insanely hydrating. For just $12, this little tube will last practically a lifetime because a little goes such a long way.
lip color
The perfect lip color HAS to be universal on top of being wearable for any occasion. Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk is seriously the best pinky-nude color I have ever tried - and I’ve tried a lot. This gorgeous shade looks amazing on almost all skin tones and comes in so many formulas; from lip liner, lipstick, and glosses; this color is hard to beat.
lip liners
The key to a good lip liner is having the perfect formulation. It needs to be creamy, pigmented, long-wearing, and cannot be too drying (not a cute look!) I was a stan for MAC lip liners forever but, I have recently fallen in love with the KKW Beauty Lip Liners. These are seriously the creamiest lip liners I have ever tried and come in such a good shade range. I love these lip liners because they are broken up into color families i.e. nudes, pinks, reds… and so on. They are also super affordable and can be purchased on the KKW Beauty website!
