Wondering what the hype behind chlorophyll water is all about? Here are some benefits and my personal opinion on this latest wellness trend.

One thing that I have recently added to my daily routine is drinking a glass of chlorophyll water. This is something I recently learned about on Tik Tok, aka my primary source of information these days. I did some more digging into what exactly this stuff was and why so many people are drinking a glass or two a day and I found out that there are some pretty great benefits to drinking this.

Nutrient For The Skin

Chlorophyll is known to have great skin healing properties, ingesting chlorophyll is said to reduce inflammation. People also use this topically and are said to have experienced a reduction in acne and signs of aging. I personally noticed a difference in the hydration of my skin after drinking it consistently!

Weight Loss

There is some evidence that taking chlorophyll has helped support weight loss as well as reduce cholesterol levels.

Detoxifying

Research has suggested that chlorophyll has been able to slow down bacterial infections and help heal wounds. Studies have been conducted showing how it may reduce the risk of cancer and eliminate toxins in the body and intestines.

Increases Red Blood Cell Production

Evidence has shown that the consumption of chlorophyll helps aid in the production of red blood cells.

Reduces Body Odor

Chlorophyll is known to be a natural deodorant and is often found in mouthwashes and topical deodorants. Drinking chlorophyll-infused water or taking supplements can also reduce body odor.

There are some downsides to this as well, people have reported that they experienced upset stomachs and nausea. I would recommend slowly introducing this into your routine by drinking a couple of drops a day and then building up to more over time. The first time I tried this I used the recommended amount on the bottle and felt so nauseous so I started adding in way less and I haven’t had any problems since.

I prefer to use liquid chlorophyll but you can also try supplements and gummies! The liquid chlorophyll I have been using is the Nature’s Way Chlorofresh, it is a huge bottle that will definitely last you a long time. I bought the mint-flavored because I have heard that the unflavored version can taste a bit like grass but, I enjoy the mint flavor because it is very light and not overbearing. I linked a few other options below if you wanted to try this for yourself!
