We’re getting back to my monthly recap roots for April by bringing back some old sections I used to always put in my posts. I am going to be sharing what I’m currently watching and telling you about what products I am obsessing over. I couldn’t leave out all the juicy details of what I have been up to so keep reading to hear about the LA nightlife!

nights out in Los Angeles

If you didn’t know, I recently moved back to LA, more specifically West Hollywood. You can read about my move in my March Recap! Since moving back I had forgotten how chaotic nights in LA are, everything is so all over the place and you never know the plan until 8 or 9 o’clock at night. Despite that, I have been having so much fun and have really been learning to go with the flow. My favorite thing about being back in a big city is that there are so many things to do and try. I used to be such a club rat when I moved here at 21 and because Covid cut that time short, I am not totally out of it but I am starting to branch out and do other things as well!

I have so many friends from home that are living in the Santa Monica/Brentwood area and I like going out with them to bars in that area, but the solo Ubers from Weho to Venice are too expensive to do every weekend. I have been getting super into festivals or just little DJ shows because the vibes are just so good and everyone is always having a good time. Sometimes clubs are boring because everyone is just trying so hard to look cool and not actually having any fun. I am just now starting to date as well so maybeee I will have more of an update on that in May!

what I’m watching

I have not been motivated/focused enough to start a long show; too much of a commitment so I have been loving watching single-season shows. After binging Bridgerton season 2 in one day, I needed another period piece to satisfy my historical drama needs (especially since The Met Gala was everything but Gilded Glamour). The Gilded Age on HBO Max was my next best option. I won’t lie, the show was a bit slow to start but the end few episodes were so good and I really liked the subtle drama. It’s not a totally binge-able show but still worth a watch.

I would honestly describe The Dropout on Hulu the same, without the corsets and elegant balls of course. What I mean by that is both shows have slight drama but are still captivating. This was about the infamous Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos. I didn’t know a whole lot about the scandal going into the show but I will definitely be watching the actual documentary on this now that I have seen the live-action remake. The only bittersweet thing about a show like this is once you finish the season that’s it, luckily The Gilded Age is getting a second season though!
